This collection of long essays is intended as a convenience for those who would prefer to focus their time in a more concentrated reading than the full assortment of texts first published on the website, from which I’ve extracted them, will easily accommodate. Removed out of the original context, the themes throughout these pages may appear a bit more legible, and perhaps even encourage some to dive again into that anthology, or better, to follow the trails back to the website and the works of music which can be listened to there – because actual listening does remain the raison d’être of the whole project. And then, after all, what more could a note to texts such as these hope for, than that once done the reader will retrace the path from the text to the notes?
