For a night like this, when – in this city on this day – not so many will in fact be sleeping, it seems time for that exquisite aria from Turandot, “Nessun Dorma,” and here, given the quality of what’s readily available on Youtube, it is difficult to impossible to settle on just one single version; so to turn this situation around, I’ve included four different ones, two each by Björling and by Corelli. All are in their own ways superlative.
To refuse to choose in this manner was not so hard to do, as this is a piece of music I think I could listen to forever.
